Jacaranda Day is Goombungee’s annual community and cultural celebration.

Scheduled to coincide with the blooming of the jacarandas lining the main street, the event brings together community groups from across the region in a celebration and sharing of the stories, history and people of the local region.

This year Jacaranda day will be turning the full length of Mocatta Street into a people friendly walking zone of entertainment, market stalls and community group displays.

The theme for the day is Music and there will be a bevy of musical, dance and poetry performances across three different outdoor performance venues.

There are three separate exhibitions on display as well as a standing display of historic vehicles, farm machinery, steam engines and cars.

Kites Qld will be conducting spectacular family participation open workshop in kite-making and flying.

For the foodies the street is interspersed with all sorts of amazing taste treats and opportunities, beverage options and plain old country heart fare.

And as a fulcrum point for the celebration there is the much loved grand parade of historic vehicles, animals and community groups.

A fun day for all the family.
