Australian New Music Ensemble 

Presented by the USQ Open Access College 

Takings sounds from both everyday life and the classical concert platform, Brisbane based music ensemble Kupka’s Piano celebrate pieces by contemporary composers from all over the world which range from the weird, wacky and wonderful, to the soothing and serene.

From funky techno beats and bluesy vibraphone melodies, to Irish jigs, pulsating rhythms and video game inspired tunes, this ensemble is a kaleidoscopic exploration of new sounds and colours which is sure to thrill, challenge and entertain.

The musicians of Kupka’s Piano bring together an eclectic mix of instruments including flute, clarinet, piano and percussion. Some unconventional instruments also feature including Jatz crackers, singing bowls, there’s even an electric toothbrush!

From being an ensemble in residence at the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts and collaborating with fantastic artists such as the MakeShift Dance Collective, this truly unique musical ensemble is one not to miss.

A reception in the USQ Arts Gallery will follow the recital – refreshments will be served.
