On Friday 11th August, the Toowoomba Jazz Society will host the Dan Bolton Quartet.
New York based, Dan Bolton is a singer/songwriter/pianist with a unique sound that has taken him all over the world. His music is reminiscent of George Gershwin, Cole Porter and Irving Berlin but with a modern twist. Elements of jazz, pop and Latin American styles are incorporated in his songs.
In the United States, Dan has created a niche with his own act and is musical director for broadway star Nathan Lee Graham as well as Laura Hart who sings with the Glen Miller Orchestra.
He has recorded three albums in New York and his songs have been described as 21st Century standards.
His quartet is currently touring Australia and includes John Stefulj (woodwinds), Steve Fischer (drums) and Eden Armstrong (bass).
Admission is $20 for visitors and $15 for members. Meals are available from 6:00 to 7:15pm and the gig begins at 7:45pm.
