Artworks held in the gallery’s collections dating from the late 1800s to 1914, a period often called La Belle Époque, meaning the Beautiful Era, but also known as the Age of Empire. The works relate to leisure, nostalgia, new technology, mass markets, gender roles, racial anxiety and other themes. Artists include George Washington Lambert, Lionel Lindsay, John Longstaff, Dora Meeson, Ellis Rowan and Godfrey Rivers.

Exhibtion on display 22 July to 15 October 2017.
