Charlie Boyle is an established artist who has called Toowoomba home for many years. Originally from Scotland, Charlie came to Toowoomba to take up a lecturing position at the then Darling Downs Institute of Advanced Education. He retired from the University of Southern Queensland as a Senior Lecturer. He now teaches at Toowoomba Art Society for pleasure. Charlie devotes considerable time to his art practice, which has been continuous and is extensive. He exhibits nationally and internationally. A prolific painter, printmaker and sculptor, Charlie works in that lyrical space between what is real and what is imagined.
This exhibition features mainly large works from Charlie’s ongoing interpretations of landscape.
These works capture unique atmospheric effects with a sensitivity to place due in no small part to Charlie’s mastery of colour.
Join us for the opening on Sunday 1 October starting at 1.30pm and a Twilight Tour on Thursday 19 October starting at 5.30pm.
These are free events and all are welcome | RSVP to the gallery.
Exhibtion on display 30 September to 29 October 2017.
