Rich Traditions – “Celebrating Rural Communities” is a FREE one day community event and is an initiative of Toowoomba Regional Council in partnership with the Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services.

The one day events will cater for individuals, families, business owners and rural producers.

These events are a way of recognising the rich traditions and resilience of rural communities and will provide the opportunity to those attending,
access to information, support and range of products and services available from various Government Departments and Support Agencies, that could help ensure their sustainability now and into the future. All in one location.

There will be something there for everybody with a range of displays and topics discussed such as how to and where you can find out more information on assistance and support available in the event of hardship such as drought, flood, personal health, mental issues including dealing with depression, local environmental issues and lots more.

Guest speakers presentations will include topics such as the use of drones in the rural sector and their benefits, the important role Careflight
plays in the community especially in rural and the more remote areas when disaster strikes, setting up a bee farm and the importance and major role your community plays in supporting each other during both the good and bad times.

There will be the opportunity to do some early Christmas shopping at the country market stalls, support the fundraising efforts of your local Lions Club
by purchasing a mouth-watering burger or sausage at the evening BBQ, have a go at the laser skirmish, be entertained by talented and well know artist Brendon Walmsley or tap your feet, sing and dance along to the music of bush band Band o’ Coots.

There will be something for everyone, young and old.

The day kicks off at 2.30pm with the BBQ and FREE night time entertainment going from 6.00pm to 9.30pm.
