Entries are now open for the 2016 Stanthorpe Art Festival. The new fillable entry form can be downloaded at http://www.stanthorpeartfestival.com.au
The 2016 Stanthorpe Art Festival is a great opportunity for emerging and professional artists. Both 2D and 3D artwork are welcome.
In 2016 there are seven prizes including:
$20,000 Stanthorpe Art Festival 2016 award
$5,000 Significant Work in 2D award
$5,000 Significant Work in 3D award
$1,000 Elaine Burton Local Artist award
$1,000 Anne Lindsay Emerging Artist award
$500 Anne Lindsay Volunteers’ Choice award
$500 Borderline Regional Arts Association Inc. Public Choice award
The competition is open to local, national and international artists. Entries close Monday 21 March 2016 and costs $30 to enter.
2016 boasts two very impressive judges. 2D works will be judged by Ron Ramsey from the Ian Potter Museum of Art at the University of Melbourne and 3D works will be judged by Jason Smith from QAGoMA in Brisbane.Each judge will carry out their own pre selection from entries received. At the final judging prior to opening night each judge will select a winner from their area and then work together to select the overall winner.
