Friday at the Flicks is a series that screens classic, significant and challenging films. A five-minute pre-screening talk sets the context and then post-show drinks and nibbles allow for a post-show discussion with a community of film enthusiasts.

A poignant and funny look at the inner lives of a Taiwanese family.
From acclaimed director Ang Lee (Life of Pi, Brokeback Mountain), Eat Drink Man Woman tells the story of a widowed Taiwanese chef (Sihung Lung) who lovingly prepares a feast for his three daughters (Chien-Lien Wu, Kuei-Mei Yang and Yu-Wen Wang) every Sunday. A menu he doesn’t have control over is that of the capricious desires of his daughters. A smart script and dazzling performances bolster this mouth-watering exploit.
