The Fossil Downs Bush Rodeo will celebrate its 9^th anniversary this year to once again raise awareness and support for the Toowoomba Hospital’s renal unit and cancer care unit.  The event also provides entertainment and support to the community of Murphys Creek.

Staged on the well-known ‘Fossil Downs’ property, the rodeo is now recognised as one of the best on the National Rodeo Association circuit. The catch cry of ‘bulls, barrels and music’ is an apt description for the family-friendly event.

Year after year, the best cowboys and barrel riders from around Australia make the trek to Fossil Downs. At the same time, they bring crowds of rodeo fans who dig deep and support a local charity. Since its inception, the Fossil Downs Bush Rodeo has injected well over $20,000 into the Toowoomba Hospital and also provided valuable aid and support for the Murphys Creek community. When the region was devastated by the 2011 floods, the Fossil Downs Bush Rodeo galvanised the community and their near neighbours to rise above the tragedy and get on with life.

The Fossil Downs Bush Rodeo is an event that annually brings community, sponsors, families and many visitors together for a celebration and a taste of the way things are in the bush.
