Freedom Stories is a film that explores the achievements of former ‘boat people’ who arrived from the Middle-East around in 2001 - the year of the Tampa and of "Children overboard". These refugees have shown astonishing resilience in surviving detention, then building new lives here. Theirs are remarkable and moving stories.
As a Refugee Welcome Zone, Toowoomba has its own success stories. Come celebrate Freedom Stories and meet some people who have built new lives in our community.
