Topics include: *The top injuries presenting to Queensland hospitals and how these can be prevented. *Safety products and ideas for securing your home. *Nursery furniture and toys – hazards and how to avoid injury. *Correct use of strollers, high chairs and other equipment. *Safe sleeping. *Child restraints – the new rules and the correct use of restraints. *Kidsafe resources. *Resuscitation (CPR for babies and toddlers using practice mannequins). *Drowning. *Choking, fevers and febrile convulsions. *Burns and scalds. *Breathing difficulties. *Head injuries. *Severe allergic reactions and the use of EpiPens. *Poisons. *Bites and stings.
Together, Kidsafe and Toowoomba Regional Council are offering a FREE 4 hour course on Saturday October 20 from 9.30am in the Toowoomba City Library. Places are strictly limited so book now on 3854 1829. Bookings are essential.
