Join us for a Twilight Tour of prints from the 1790s to the 1890s that illuminate the response of European settlers to Australia’s terrain in all of its unfamiliarity, beauty and extremes. Prints on display include a full set of the suite of engravings by two re-offending convict artists and the military commandant of the penal settlement at Newcastle, published in 1821.
This is a free event and all are welcome. Light refreshments will be served | RSVP to the gallery by Tuesday 21 March 2017.
Romance and Terror: Prints of Colonial Australia will be on display from 14 January to 9 April 2017.
