The Toowoomba Bushwalkers Club are giving back to the community and offering a free community bushwalking program suitable for beginners or anyone who is new to bushwalking and wants to experience some great walking tracks within the region, learn some great tips and share stories with experienced club members. 

Participants are requested to allow a total of two hours for each bushwalk including sign-on and pre-walk briefing, the walk (at a beginner friendly pace), rest breaks, possibly morning tea, and sign-off time at the end.

Times and locations

Bushwalks will nominally start at 8.30am (on the following days / locations in the list), and the exact time and meet up location will be provided upon registration for each walk:

• Sat 6 March 2021 at Highfields Falls, Lot 204 James Byrne Rd, Highfields
• Sat 27 March 2021 at Mt Peel, Westminster Street, Drayton
• Sun 16 May 2021 at Fantail & Firetail Trails, Picnic Point 2 Rowbotham Street, Rangeville
• Sun 20 June 2021 at Crow’s Nest National Park, Three Mile Road, Crows Nest
• Sun 18 July 2021 at Applegum Walk, Hartmann Park, 39 Dale Street, Crows Nest
• Sat 7 August 2021 at Ravensbourne National Park, Cnr of National Park Road and Walsh Road, Ravensbourne

Helpful walk information

To help you get the best out of your experience, safety is paramount and some items that would be good to consider include:

• Comfortable protective footwear (sneakers are suitable)
• Dress for track conditions and weather (ie long grass)
• Wear a hat, sunscreen and insect repellent
• Carry plenty of water
• Hand sanitiser
• A small first aid kit
