Spinal Muscular Atrophy - Type 1,  also known as Werdnig Hoffmann disease is a genetic neuromuscular disorder that affects the nerve cells that control voluntary muscles (motor neurons). Louis  requires regular trips to Brisbane, different therapies, special products and so much more.

With treatment, Louis will sit up, crawl and walk.

Without treatment, his muscles will gradually waste away.
