Ever thought about publishing a book? Do you have a manuscript but don’t know what to do next? Then this 1 day self-publishing workshop is for you. A perfect workshop for intermediate level writers

Join USQ Senior Lecturer in Editing and Publishing/Creative Writing, Dr Dallas Baker, for this one day workshop in learning the finer details of turning your manuscript into a published book.

Participants will be taken through the process of self-publishing a polished manuscript as well as the post-publication stages such as marketing. Bring your manuscript (a completed work) to publish at the end of the workshop (if practical).

It would be best if the manuscript has been professionally edited by someone other than the author. Don’t have someone to edit your work before the workshop? Dallas can connect you with editors. Contact us before the workshop to discuss further.

Dr. Dallas John Baker is a Senior Lecturer in writing, editing and publishing at the School of Arts and Communication at the University of Southern Queensland. He has published dozens of scholarly articles and creative works, including a book of travel writing, America Divine: Travels in the Hidden South (2011). Under the pen name D.J. McPhee, he has written three Young Adult fantasy fiction novels, Waycaller (2016), Keysong (2016) and Oracle (upcoming July 2017). He is Co-Editor, Special Issues, of TEXT: Journal of Writing and Writing Courses, the peak journal for the Creative Writing discipline. He recently co-edited two scholarly anthologies, Forgotten Lives: Recovering Lost Histories through Fact and Fiction (Cambridge Scholars Publishing, 2017) and Publishing & Culture (forthcoming). Dallas’ study and research intersect with a number of disciplines: creative writing, publishing studies and cultural studies.
