‘I like the civilization of the Mediterranean so steeped in the great traditions, and where I can see at intervals good pictures and the remains of noble architecture.’ Lionel Lindsay (1874-1961) wrote this in Spain in 1934.
The watercolour paintings in this exhibition are visual records of Lindsay’s deep admiration for built environments in south Europe and north Africa as well as in India.
Exhibition on display from 27 January to 22 April 2018.
