Curated by Lee FullARTon, I Want to be in a Book contains original works by local children’s author and illustrator, Narelle Oliver. A talented author-illustrator-artist of many award-winning children’s picture books, Narelle Oliver wrote I Want to be in a Book for the little drawing on her pin board named ‘Cecil’. Narelle had not quite finished her work before she passed in 2016, but her vision for Cecil and his story were complete, and they became the book they were meant to be. On display in the exhibition are original prints, linocuts and roughs from the book.
