'Fatality Free Friday’ is an Australian Road Safety Community effort targeted to achieve a fatality-free Friday for just one day across the whole country. Statistically Fridays see the highest number of deaths occurring on Australia roads, with 21.0% of all road deaths occurring on this single day of the week.

Friday, May 25th, is Fatality Free Friday for 2018, and Toowoomba is standing up as a community by planning an event to raise road safety awareness at Central Square - cnr Margaret & Victoria St (Grand Central). Come and make your road safety pledge and choose road safety not just for one day, but every day you use the roads.

The event will run from 11am till 1pm with formal speeches by the Mayor, Senior Police, Senior QFES and Senior TMR staff and will include displays by emergency services and road safety support agencies.

The Toowoomba event is a collaboration between Toowoomba Regional Council, the Dept. of Transport & Main Roads, Queensland Police Service, Queensland Fire and Emergency Services,  Queensland Ambulance Service and Grand Central Shopping Centre
