Performance of the winning plays of the Toowoomba Repertory Theatre national play writing contest.
"Fireflies" by Bruce Clark A sensitive and sometimes humourous portrayal of a farmer who is experiencing the decline of the family farm, the intrusion of the coal seam gas industry, and the loss of his lifestyle and family. This is a topic that is highly relevant on the Downs today.
"Inconceivable" by Hugh O'Brien A fascinating story of a man whose unhappy past drives him to use his position to intervene to slow the rising trend of unplanned pregnancies and child abuse in his community. This witty and topical play follows the fortunes of this man and a local journalist as they wrestle with the issues.
Both plays are performed each night of the season. Admission includes complimentary wine and light supper with tea and coffee. Curtain up is 7.30 pm.
