Jump aboard the 'fun train' for an Easter Eggstravaganza at DownsSteam Drayton!!

DownsSteam's Drayton Railway Workshop & Museum Precinct will be open on Easter Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 3pm with site entry by donation.

The Easter Bunny is coming to town! He's hidden his Easter Eggs around Drayton Station and our award winning gardens for kids to find.

Take a ride into the past on a former Queensland Rail Section Car as used by track maintenance gangs. Operating hours are 9:30am - 2:30pm. Tickets $2 per person, rides take around 10 minutes. Rides are conducted in the Drayton West Precinct only and may not available in the event of inclement weather.

Live Music on the Station Platform:

Saturday - Toowoomba Ukulele Group

Sunday - Oliver Murphy (violin) from 'A Boy, A Violin, A Lamb and A Tuxedo'

Live steam with our vintage traction engines, a 1910 3hp Robey & Co Portable and locally built Spencer Works 1/3 scale model traction engine fired up.

Sit back and relax in the former Queensland Rail "Macrossan" Lounge and "Tropics" Club cars for a small sample of the upcoming Great Divide Scenic Railway - "DownsSteam Winelander" experience.

Food and drink available to purchase:
* Sausage sizzle on the fully covered Drayton station platform
* Tea & Barista made coffee (Saturday Only)
* Hot cross buns & selected slices/cakes (Saturday Only)
* Cold drinks
* Sweet treats

Explore our family friendly precinct with one of our knowledgeable volunteer tour guides; learn more about the history of DownsSteam, our current rollingstock restoration work and exciting upcoming rail tours. Discover the unique Dreamtime Carriage art exhibit by the talented Aboriginal/Italian artist "Dom".

Check out the ongoing restoration of the “Pride of Toowoomba” – Steam Locomotive #106, proudly built at the Toowoomba Foundry in 1915 and now the only remaining C16 class steam locomotive. After a little more than a century and over a million miles of steaming across Queensland rails, this once proud steam engine has found its way back home and into the hands of our dedicated team of volunteer craftsmen.

Marvel at our former Tasmanian DP class railmotor as our skilled volunteers continue to raise it from the ashes of an arson attack. When completed, the “Gatsby Flyer’s” tastefully decorated art deco inspired interior will provide nostalgic fun on short tours across the Downs.
