Jacaranda Day is a fun-filled, community event in Goombungee held on the first Saturday in November. The main street of Goombungee is awash with the beautiful purple jacaranda trees in bloom interspersed with golden silky oaks. Each year the community dress the trees and light them making the median strip a perfect place to wander or picnic under the shade of these magnificent trees.
There's plenty of food on offer and entertainment for the kids with face painting and an animal petting zoo as well as a vibrant market community. The Rosalie Shire Historical Society who host the day, invite you to visit their museum and marvel at the relics of days gone by and see displays relating to the history of the Rosalie Shire Council and our ANZAC memorials amongst others.
