Women in Harmony Choir is excited to host a 5-day visit to Toowoomba and Regional centres by UBUNTU, a group of singers, musicians and dancers who were former members of the world-renowned African Children’s Choir.

They will present concerts in Warwick on Wednesday 22^nd, Crows Nest on Thursday 23^rd, Toowoomba on Saturday 25^th and Dalby on Sunday, 26^th.

While in Toowoomba, they will also hold a singing, dancing and drumming workshop for anyone of any age or experience level to come and experience the vitality and joy they bring to the stage.

Workshop leaders, Barnet Twesigome and Abraham Kiyingi are a formidable pair, who when unleashed upon a group of workshop participants, have the unique gift of not only engaging both adults and children, but evoking in them a desire to drop their inhibitions at the door and join in a fun-filled rhythmic African romp.

Barnett and Abraham are now giving back by becoming leaders in the African Children’s Choir, the organization that gave them an education and the chance to seize opportunities to make a better life.  Since 1984, the choir has been instrumental in saving them and 52,000 other children in sub-Saharan African countries from a life of poverty, through education paid for by funds raised during their international tours.

Touring the world as small children the members of the group graced the stages of Carnegie Hall and the London Palladium performing for US Presidents and Nobel Prize winners with celebrities such as Will Smith, Bob Geldorf, Alicia Keys and Annie Lennox.
