The Run Ride Race for Research is the first and largest multi-sport event to be held in the Toowoomba region with the event aiming to raise over $50,000 for the It’s A Bloke Thing Prostate Foundation (IABT). The It’s a Bloke Thing Foundation flagship event is the Qantaslink It’s a Bloke Thing Prostate Cancer Luncheon which is held annually and has raised $3 million since its inception in 2011. Last year alone, the event raised more than $1.3 million dollars making it one of the largest daytime fundraising initiatives in Australia.

As well as raising much needed funds for Prostate Cancer Research the Foundation also sponsors the Qantaslink It’s a Bloke Thing Prostate Cancer Education Roadshow and in 2016 joined with Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and ManUp to fund and introduce a local Toowoomba Specialist Prostate Cancer Nurse to the region.

The Run Ride Race for Research event will add valuable dollars to the groups fundraising efforts but will also encourage men to talk about their health with other men, partners and families.
