October ‘Did you know?’ community talk

This is a rare opportunity to explore the LIfeflight Toowoomba Base and also hear information that will reduce the likelihood of needing emergency services in the October ‘Did you know?’ community talk.

In preparation for storm and bushfire season, we clean the gutters and tidy the yard, but the most important thing to prepare is our mind.

The stress that occurs during a disaster can turn your brain to mush, making it nearly impossible to make good, rational and life-saving decisions.

In this rare opportunity to explore the LifeFlight Toowoomba Base, you will also hear some life-saving tips from Dr Barbara Ryan, Senior Lecturer (Public Relations) and disaster and emergency communications expert.

Barbara will explore the effects of stress on your decision-making abilities, what that means during an emergency and the steps to take to be prepared.

Time: 5.00pm for 5.30pm-6.30pm

Parking: Accessible parking is available in the Careflight off-street parking. Please park all other vehicles on McDougall Street.

Catering: Join us after the talk for refreshments and a chat with Barbara. The LifeFlight crew and staff will also be available to talk about the service and the First Minutes Matter program.
