The Toowoomba Region’s climate is changing, and the design of architecture and place must respond to this in order to ensure continued liveability and longevity. Toowoomba Regional Council is proud to have created the Toowoomba Region Design: Warm Temperate Climate Building Design Guideline – and is ready to start the journey with its community to design and build more climatically responsive architecture.
The Toowoomba Region is a unique “Warm Temperate” region on the Great Dividing Range.
Toowoomba Regional Council, in collaboration with the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and the University of Southern Queensland (USQ), has been researching “Warm Temperate” land and establishing a new set of data to define the climate, understand characteristics, and consider how building design can deliver ecologically sustainable outcomes.
This event will be the first talk in TRUDI’s Architectural Design Series. It will bring together thinkers, leaders and makers who have considered and explored design solutions for climate change.
