Toowoomba Regional Council Resilience and Recovery would like to invite all Business Owners within the Toowoomba Regional Council area to be part of our

BUSINESS RESILIENCE AND PLANNING EXPOS AND WORKSHOPS

As a vital pillar of resilience and recovery, the business community has taken several hits over the past few years and Covid has just compounded the situation, so we aim to connect Business Owners with Government and other agencies in one convenient location.  As the business community traverses the burn areas from the 2019 Bushfires (Recovery Funding from Federal and State Government is supporting these events), with employees travelling in and out of these areas and with a variety of impacts to the business and to the employees and their families, the following events have been planned –

This is a free event so mark your calendars now!

The Workshops, tailored to each participants’ business, will be limited seating and start at 8:30am on each day, we have a keynote address, a catered lunch and 2 expo sessions. 

Expo participants include –

  • Services Australia
  • Department of Training, Employment and Small Business
  • ATO
  • FarmAid
  • Darling Downs Health and Hospital Services with their stress management and mental wellbeing
  • and more.

1:30pm – 1:45pm

Welcome and opening address Mayor Paul Antonio

1:45pm – 2:45pm

Keynote address from Effie Zahos

Effie Zahos combines her Degree in Economics from the University of Queensland with her ability to communicate and engage with not only personal finance matters but wider economic issues faced by businesses, families and organisations of all sizes.

2:45pm – 4:00pm

Building Resilience Workshop - delivered by Roberston Scannell

This unique workshop was developed to help residents in rural communities build resilience in an ever-changing environment. Using research-based tools and techniques, you'll be equipped to navigate challenges and adapt your business/personal situation accordingly.

Workshop topics include:

  • Stress management
  • Modifying your beliefs
  • Maximising the probability of your resilience plan
  • Building capability & self-confidence
  • Developing a One Page Plan

Meet the facilitators:

Mark Mahony is a Director of Robertson Scannell and an enterprising business mentor, advisor and coach, with more than 20 years experience in the business sector. As an accredited Mindshop facilitator, he develops and presents workshops for small-to-medium businesses.

Katie Marchant is a CPA-qualified Business Advisor and Accountant at Robertson Scannell. With experience in a variety of industries, structures and business sizes, she works with owners/managers to create detailed business plans, budgets, financial statements and tax plans.

Get your business name out there for all to see

There is the opportunity to sponsor these events. This would entail a donation from your business in any form you feel suits your business, in return for your business logo on all print media and advertising for the events. Advertising will include social media, regional newspapers, newsletters and through Chambers and Progress Associations that are keen to get the word out to their members. Door prizes or spot prizes (depending upon the number of businesses who come on board) will be awarded throughout the events.
