Out on a Limb is an exhibition by Toowoomba artist Peter Fitzpatrick. Playfully referring to the phrase ‘To go out on a limb’, the title embodies Peter’s ethos of trying something new even if it goes against the grain. He says, “For art to hang on a wall it ought to evoke conversation, play “mind games” to arouse change and not sit meekly as a “gap fill-in” of inconsequence”.

This curated selection of retrospective paintings and mixed media works features limbs, trees, branches and figurative forms, where limbs are viewed as poetic extension beyond a principal structure, panorama, or a pose. Limbs and shadows become the primary focus to engage the beauty of simplicity.

The exhibition aims to engage audience dialogue and emotional contemplation.
