Toowoomba Region artist David Carson gives us insight into why ‘today is his moment’ with diverse images in an abstract form and enhanced photographic images taken from the natural world and portraiture. He is grateful for the opportunity to share his unique works and to be involved with the local community after his recent arrival to the area.
Not having had the opportunity to learn an expressive art form whilst younger, upon retirement, David began to experiment with how visual art could be produced digitally from photographs he had taken and from his own ideas. He was spurred on to participate in an annual competition by an art gallery in his former town, giving him the confidence to continue developing his practice.
As an Octogenarian, David wanted to keep his imagination stimulated to prove that an old dog can learn new tricks, plus give himself a measure of pleasure and satisfaction during retirement.
Join us for a Meet the Artist event on Satuday 29 June between 10.30am and 12.30pm.
Come along for an opportunity to see David’s unique works and learn more about his practice.
