Ode to Monet is an exhibition by local artist Joan Hurtado.

Joan has been interested in painting and drawing from a very early age. She is curious about all mediums and sometimes mixes them to find new ways to express the subject.

Like Monet, Joan is fascinated by reflected light shimmering across a lily pond. Crystal Waters, the focus of her exhibition, is a recreational park situated in the middle of suburbia, Thornlands, Brisbane. It is an oasis for birds and is enjoyed by everyone in the community.

Joan is currently in her second year of a Bachelor of Visual Art, University of Southern Queensland, Toowoomba.
