Film Presentation: The Kenny Concept of Infantile Paralysis

The Sister Kenny Memorial Committee extends a warm invitation to join us honouring Sister Elizabeth Kenny’s remarkable achievements during ‘Polio Awareness Month’ this October.

Sister Kenny was the first Australian to use physiotherapy to treat polio patients with great success, in contrast to the brutal and less effective orthodox method.

By applying 'the method' to children, many were given back their independence which carried them on into adulthood.

Sister Kenny’s 1944 tutorial film was digitally remastered and is now ready to be presented.

A 'bush nurse' from Nobby in rural Queensland became a world-renowned woman of her time. She travelled globally teaching 'the method' and establishing clinics along with her adopted daughter and Kenny technician Mary McCracken.

We would like to invite you to this evening to promote the museum that bears her name and to enable us to acknowledge her achievements into the future.
