The Jazz Society is proud to present our Carnival of Flowers official event, featuring top class musicians from Brisbane!
The ‘SESSION BAND’ is a group of highly skilled musicians, who are individually recognized as being amongst the best performers in their field.
Each member has decades of professional experience in all aspects of the music industry as performers, entertainers, recording artists, teachers, backing/support to local, national and major stars, floorshows, and also extensive television, radio and media appearances.
The band’s focus is always on entertainment, with superb musicianship and humour.
Peter Uppman is a multi award-winning world-class trumpeter, singer, songwriter, recording artist and entertainer. He also possesses the unique ability to connect with his audience, utilising humour combined with superb musicianship.

Russell Bayne would be one of the most versatile and sought-after guitarists in this country. He has a wealth of experience including working with Chuck Berry, Jerry Lewis, Shirley Bassey, The Monkees, Pavarotti, Kiri Ti Kanawa, Bon Scott (AC/DC), James Morrison, Don Burrows, Ricky May, Normie Rowe, Billy Fields, Tina Arena, Rolf Harris, Barry Crocker, Jackie Trent, Debbie Byrne, etc.… The list goes on and on...
Jo Bloomfield is a highly skilled and much sought-after talent within Australia. She has worked with dozens of internationally acclaimed performers and possesses an extraordinary ability to play superb keyboard Bass as well as piano. Jo has featured many times at Toowoomba Jazz events.
Rod Ford began his musical studies with the Trombone and Trumpet at school playing in wind ensembles at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music whilst taking lessons. At the age of 20 Rodney changed to the clarinet in the Army Band, and a casual interest in drums became a serious study as he held down the drum chair in the 'Con Big Band ' and Jazz ensembles affiliated with the Jazz studies program at the Conservatorium. As a drummer Rodney was in demand as both a live and recording artist and he toured or recorded with : 'The Jazz Co – Op (featuring Howie Smith and Roger Frampton), Tommy Emanuel, legendary Guitarists from the USA Herb Ellis and Barney Kessel and Eberhardt Weber amongst many others. ENTRY: TJS Member $15, Non-members $20. Annual membership of Toowoomba Jazz Society is available on the night.
PARKING: Access the car park off Gipps Street or there are parks in front of the bowling green in Ball Street and access via the gate.
ENTRANCE: Up the steps from the car park on the southern side of the building or from the bowling green side. Disabled access ramp on the Western side (Gipps Street) and through the bar.
