Cancer Council Queensland’s Tackling Tobacco Queensland project aims to support and connect people working with socio-economically disadvantaged communities to address smoking through training, resources and networking opportunities.  

Cancer Council will be hosting a FREE Tackling Tobacco training in Toowoomba and would like to invite you to attend.

This forum is for social or community service professionals who work with groups that have higher smoking rates. If you would like to address smoking with you clients, this forum is for you.

The forum will discuss the importance of supporting people who have higher rates of smoking including:

• People experiencing homelessness
• People with problematic alcohol and other drug use
• People with mental illness
• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
• Other people that experience social disadvantage

Forum includes presentations from the local region, smoking cessation training, networking opportunities, resource kit, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.
