Join with us on Tuesday 2 August on the Toowoomba City Library civic square for lunch, information displays, support and mateship, focussed around prostate cancer. Cr Geoff McDonald will introduce the ManUp! team who will be in attendance to talk about prostate cancer, its detection and treatment and the steps every man should be taking.

TOMNET (The Older Men's Network) have kindly offered their assistance to provide a free lunchtime sausage sizzle.

Facts about prostate cancer

• 1 in 5 Queensland men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime.
• Prostate cancer is the second most common cause of cancer-related death, after lung cancer.
• There are more than 120,000 men living with prostate cancer in Australia.
• In the early stages of prostate cancer there are no symptoms.
• The good news is that compared to other cancers, prostate cancer has one of the highest five-year survival rates - 94% - after diagnosis.
