“Double Shot” – full flavour Jazz!

So it is with the music of this collaboration between seasoned jazz musicians Dan Cosgrove and Paul Hendon.

Dan and Paul were both mentored in their development of jazz improvisation by Denis Levonis, who helped instil a love of melodic, rhythmic and harmonic styles of music. With each player doubling on reeds (clarinet, tenor and soprano saxes) as well as piano, they extract pure gold with their unique interpretations of standards from the swing and traditional jazz eras

They formed this group three years ago, and are keenly looking forward to their return to the Toowoomba Jazz Club following a recent performance at the Carnival of Flowers..

This year sees the inclusion of local guitarist Miguel Close, who is rapidly forging a reputation for solid rhythmic and chordal guitar accompaniment.
We also look forward to a return visit by seasoned double bassist Marsh Robinson.

With the added bonus of Dan’s vocals, this flexible combo offers a huge range of sounds from duelling clarinets to a full rhythm section backing the lead soloist, bound to appeal to listeners and dancers alike.

– If you can please bring exact money for your entry that would be appreciated. Change will be available and the bowls club has an ATM.
