We welcome back from the Sunshine Coast the fabulous Girl Friday on Friday 14th April! Girl Friday, a popular part of the Sunshine Coast jazz and blues scene, has been gathering an army of loyal fans who have been coming out to listen to their smooth standards and cool originals since 2016. Michele G, who fronts the quartet with her dulcet tones and deep lyrics, has been likened to Ella Fitzgerald and Aretha Franklin with her soulful delivery, honed over years of performing in Australia and Europe. It’s the actress in her that extracts the story from every tune, experience gained during her time treading the boards on the UK musical theatre scene. She is accompanied by bassist Logan McIvor, an accomplished musician and songwriter who performs everything from Brubeck to Bacharach and beyond, multi-instrumentalist Calvin Hunter, with his emotive sax solos adding spice to every tune, and jazz drummer, Peter Coombs, with his selection of sticks, brushes, percussion and personality enhancing every beat.
