This year’s QLD Community Development Conference will be held in Toowoomba from 23-25 October. The Les Halliwell Address will take place Wednesday evening, followed by the two-day conference.

The Queensland Community Development conference has been held biennially since 1974 in different regional locations across the state. Driven by CD Qld and hosted by regional partners, the aim of the conference is to inspire, celebrate and develop a shared approach to citizen-led community development (CD). Community development is field of practice that supports community members or citizens to bring about positive change in their local communities.

The conference theme, “A Place for Everyone” is such an important topic given that “Place” and “Place-based” approaches and initiatives are gaining currency with governments, NGOs and even the corporate sector. We are looking forward to exploring how community development and 'community' perspectives relate to this important topic with you in October.

We warmly welcome you to the 2019 Community Development Conference and look forward to seeing you there.
