The 'Burstow's Christmas Wonderland' began in 2003 with a dream of creating an event where the whole community could come and experience the joy and wonder of Christmas. They saw their Christmas lights display truly become a Toowoomba tradition. In 2007, the event was re-named, Toowoomba's Christmas Wonderland, in recognition of the support Burstow's received from the entire community. In January 2008, Don and Trevor Burstow officially passed on the responsibility of hosting Toowoomba's Christmas Wonderland to the Lions Club of Toowoomba West. Since 2008, the Lions Club of Toowoomba West has coordinated Toowoomba's Christmas Wonderland display, raising donations for many local organisations in Toowoomba.

Toowoomba’s Christmas Wonderland is a family-friendly event held in the Botanic Gardens, Queens Park. The event operates from 7pm to 10pm each night from Saturday 2nd December 2023 up to, and including Christmas Eve. Enter by gold coin donation or ‘Tap & Go’ payment at each of the three entry points.

Enjoy the traditional Christmas lights display, as well as local and roving performers, raffles, BBQ and Christmas entertainment for the whole family.

A Gold Coin entry is sought from visitors with these funds donated in full to our beneficiaries - Lifeline Darling Downs, Toowoomba Hospice and Toowoomba Hospital Foundation. To date a total of $1,325,000 has been returned to our charities.

We offer free ice creams and popcorn for children and if adults wish to partake a donation is requested. BBQ operates each night with cold drinks being available. A Christmas Raffle is also available with tickets only $1-00 and a chance to win over 10 prizes. Lions Christmas Cakes and Puddings are also sold on site. A model train display and a minature village is on the grounds for veiwing.

EFTPOS facilities are also available.

Come along and enjoy the "magic and joy" of the Christmas spirit though the lights displays and sit down with your family and friends to enjoy the local entertainment or our roving entertainers.
