Big band music will fill the room with the fabulous Jim Miller Big Band.
For this event we have an extra treat with special guests straight from 1943, the Gowrie Gals!
This trio comprises of Ebony Rosier, Sara Hales and Bronwyn Blank. Each will be singing individual tunes as well as doing an Andrews Sisters tribute.
And not stopping there, Greg Bird on vocals will also be joining the performance.
Jim Miller (1926 – 2012) formed this group around thirty years ago. He served in the RAAF during WWII, a period when big bands were very popular. He particularly enjoyed the music of Glen Miller and played this swing style of music with dance bands before forming his own big band.

The Jim Miller Big Band continues this tradition and popular tunes from Glen Miller, Duke Ellington and Count Basie are always part of the program presented. Since Jim’s passing, the band has broadened its repertoire and even includes a few early rock and roll hits.

ENTRY: TJS Member $15, Non-members $20. Annual membership of Toowoomba Jazz Society is available on the night.

PARKING: Access the car park off Gipps Street or there are parks in front of the bowling green in Ball Street and access via the gate.

ENTRANCE: Up the steps from the car park on the southern side of the building or from the bowling green side. Disabled access ramp on the Western side (Gipps Street) and through the bar.
