Sometimes the hardest part of starting a drawing is being brave enough to give it a go. In the classroom environment students are pushed beyond their comfort zone to achieve things they otherwise might not have attempted. They are often surprised to discover they are more capable than they realised.
The journey from first attempt to finished artwork is often not catalogued, the polished and framed item being the final offering to the viewing public. This exhibition seeks to illustrate the journey, both as celebration of what’s really being achieved, and as encouragement to those not yet started. The first steps are often clumsy and that’s OK. Through weekly sharing and critiquing, workshop participants begin to find their ‘voice’, gain confidence, develop their own recognisable style and accumulate enough bravery to exhibit.
Join us for an Artist Talk event on Sunday 22 October at 11am.
