The 33^rd Annual Australian Miniature Traction Engine Rally will be held at the Crows Nest Tourist Park on 21^st/22^nd October 2023. This is only the 2^nd time this event has been held in Queensland and is proudly hosted by Steaming on the Downs Inc, a locally based community organisation.

Miniature traction engines are small, steam powered road vehicles that can pull several adults around and are scaled down replicas of the full-size steam traction engines that were utilised widely in agriculture in the 19^th and early 20^th century within farming communities on the Darling Downs and forms an important part of our rich agricultural heritage. There are tens of thousands of enthusiasts across Australia who indulge in a passion for steam power in various ways and forms.

Steaming on the Downs Inc works to inspire sense of community and purpose to people interested in these fascinating pieces of our engineering history. By sharing knowledge and skills and supporting each other we provide an excellent platform to motivate and engage members and the community which in turn supports the mental health of all participants. 

Steaming on the Downs Inc welcome new members at any skill level and will also be celebrating its 2^nd birthday in October.

This event will draw visitors and like-minded groups from all over Australia to Crows Nest, many bringing their engines to exhibit and share knowledge through this event.

There will be food and drinks on sale and plenty to keep you interested all for a donation at the gate. Gates are open from 9am till 3pm on Saturday 21^st, and Sunday 22^nd October.

Steaming on the Downs Inc hope is to raise awareness of this interesting hobby and develop community support to make this an annual Queensland event.
