World class musicians, the Date Brothers, will bring their brand of gypsy jazz to the North Toowoomba Bowls club on Friday 24th November.

Based in Ireland, Ian will join his Sydney based brother, Nigel, for an action-packed session of hot guitar playing which will delight your ears and blow your mind. The brothers get together once or twice each year in Australia as well as overseas.

From a gypsy campfire to a South American street party to the sophisticated inner- city salon; the Date brothers happily invoke these sounds and styles in a virtuosic manner on their acoustic guitars. Bassist, Stew Barry will join the Date brothers on the night.

Ian is a highly renowned musician and is patron of the Oz Manouche gypsy guitar festival held in Brisbane each November. This festival brings together the best of Australian Django style players as well as international guests. The brothers will take timeout from their busy schedule to visit the Toowoomba Jazz Society.

They have previously performed in Toowoomba in bands such as Peppermint Tea and the Straight Back Fellows. Nigel performed here last year in Gadjo Guitars, as well as Stew.

Entry is $15 for members and $20 for visitors. Meals are served from 6 to 7:15pm and the gig begins at 7:45.
