The Joshua Hatcher Quartet performs original jazz that’s simmering one moment and whispering the next. Innovative compositions, filled with echoes of last century, converge with modern soloists to create music that’s familiar yet entirely new at the same time.
Formed in late 2012, the band consists of Joshua Hatcher (saxophone, composer), Chris Poulsen (piano), Helen Russell (bass) and Nathan Goldman (drums). Since then the group has been forging its sound and style through regular performances around Brisbane at JMI Live, Brisbane Jazz Club, Brisbane International Jazz Festival, Jazz Upstairs, Green Jam and The Box.
A reception in the USQ Arts Gallery will follow the recital – refreshments will be served.
