Some of the Toowoomba region’s best sustainable living experts will share their knowledge and tips at the Sustainability Showcase hosted by the Amaroo Environmental Education Centre near Highfields on Saturday 18 March.

The event coincides with Sustainable House Day and aims to show people the benefits of sustainable design and living for their health, comfort, enjoyment and finances.Davina Rooney, CEO of the Green Building Council of Australia, will officially open the program at 10am inside Amaroo’s 5 Star Green Rated Eco Classroom.

Keynote speaker, Sebastian Crangle, is a sustainability consultant specialising in home energy-efficiency and energy management. He helps households to lower the energy consumption and carbon footprint of their homes with practical and customised solutions.

Other speakers will share advice on a range of topics such as earth-friendly concrete, sustainable house design, electric vehicles, permaculture and the latest trends in bicycles.A Sustainable Living Roundtable Q&A session will also be held with representatives from local environmental groups including Toowoomba 4 Climate Action, Darling Downs Environmental Council, Toowoomba World Environment Day and Toowoomba Permaculture Club.

Light refreshments and barista coffee will be available to purchase.
