In this workshop participants will learn skills in devising comedy through the exploration of a variety of comedic styles. Through clown, character, satire, sketch and physical comedy, participants will explore the principles of ‘Le Jeu’ (the joy to perform), stage presence and ensemble building through a series of games, exercises and improvisations centred around play.

Participants will explore collaborative creation and learn devising skills which will see them create sketches, scenes and comedic material. The workshop will culminate in a performance at the end of the week, giving participants the full experience from creation to completion in inventing and performing comedy. This is an opportunity for performers of all experience and backgrounds to explore what they find funny and discover their own comic persona.
