This exhibition features works from Toowoomba City Collection chosen because of how or why they were acquired. A simplified view of curation can be outlined using four verbs: observe, describe, interpret and connect. This exhibition is an exercise in illustrating that process while featuring information about the reasons for acquisition and the Collection’s development.

Timed to coincide with the release of revised Toowoomba Region Art Collection Guidelines this exhibition will provide insight into collecting and highlights connections between some items in order to explain why they were added to the Collection.

Join us for a Twilight Tour on Thursday 18 January @ 5.30pm as Regional Coordinator of Art Galleries & Cultural Services, Sue Lostroh, takes us for a guided tour to showcase the art of collecting and how or why items were acquired for the collection.
