The Toowoomba Hospital Foundation, St Vincent’s Hospital and Angelo’s House are presenting a brand new event for Melbourne Cup fans.  

Tickets are $85 which includes Jansz sparkling wine, Stone and Wood beer and canapés on arrival and a two course meal.  There will be an auction, sweeps and a multidraw raffle with a major prize of two nights’ accommodation at Toowoomba’s new Quest apartments. This year the Melbourne Cup will be run on Tuesday 3 November and the luncheon will start at 11.00 am. For bookings contact Angelo’s House on 46599200. 

As an added incentive, Angelo’s House is offering guests who book as a group of eight or more a voucher for a free breakfast, redeemable any day of the week.  

Funds raised at the luncheon will be shared between the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation and St. Vincent’s Hospital. The Foundation will direct funds to mental health programmes for young people in Toowoomba. St Vincent’s will use the funds to purchase a specialist airflow machine for the St Gabriel’s Unit (children’s ward).

Two local businesses have very generously sponsored the luncheon, offering an added incentive for guests to get into the spirit of the spring racing season.

Central Jewellers has donated a MY iMenso rose gold-plated rose cameo necklace with a decorative flower insignia necklace for the best dressed lady. Armstrong Auto Group has donated a vehicle service voucher for the best dressed man. There will also be a prize for the best headpiece, hat or fascinator. The Toowoomba Chronicle’s Style Magazine editor, Tayla Arthur, will be the guest judge.
