Fahrenheit 451

British, 1966.

In this forerunner of dystopian texts, books are burned and reading is outlawed by a totalitarian government.

Before young adult dystopian fiction became all the rage, there was Fahrenheit 451. Based on the haunting masterpiece by Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451 tells the story of a fireman on the run for reading in society where all books are outlawed by a totalitarian government.

Darkly comedic and beautifully shot, the film poses thought-provoking questions about knowledge and art. Directed by François Truffaut.

Rated PG for low-level violence

Includes post show drink and nibbles.
