With Nan – Tania Cox Author activity

A leaf that flies... A rock that hops... These are some of the wonderful things that Simon sees on his walk with Nan. Simon takes a walk through the bush with his Nan and along the way finds out that things are not always what they seem.

 Join Author Tania Cox, and Toowoomba Regional Council’s First 5 Forever and Bushland Parks teams for a special early year’s literacy session. Tania will read her book, ‘With Nan’, and the Bushland Parks team will be your guides to the bushland at Cooby Dam.

Will you see what Simon and his Nan saw? Or will you find some new animals?

When: October 5th

Where: Cooby Dam, Cooby Dam Road, Meringandan QLD 4352. 

Time:  9.30 am – 10.30 am

What to bring:   Please wear a hat and sunscreen and bring along some drinking water. There is no shop at the dam.

Cooby Dam is a great place for a picnic so think about bringing along a snack or picnic lunch.

How to get there: Lake Cooby is 35kms north of Toowoomba and easily accessible from the New England Highway. If you are travelling north from Toowoomba, turn left on Highfields Road at Highfields and follow the signs to Lake Cooby. If coming south towards Toowoomba, turn right on the Meringandan Road at Cabarlah and then right again at Kleinton School Road. Turn left on Klein Road and right following Cooby Dam Road.
