Get your dance shoes on for this night of fun music.
Playing in the pocket where country and jazz unashamedly mingle and reminiscent of the jive of yah great grandpappy’s best 78s, The Ragtone Ramblers guarantee to get your legs kicking and your wingtips wiggling.
Juggling a range of vintage electric and acoustic instruments, the ragtones serve up a lively brew of western swing, hillbilly and early jazz. The sweet country twang of three distinct vocalists blend seamlessly against a backdrop of steel guitar, electric archtop, and slappin upright bass. The syncopated rhythm of the tenor banjo and the rattle of the washboard recall the hokum, jugband and trad music of the American South in the highly creative period between the wars.
The Ragtone Ramblers release their first recording – Ragtone Stomp – on 28 July. You can pick up a copy from the band, or download.
