World Television Day 2020 will be a great day of celebration! Simply because television and indeed all media is enjoying significant growth in audience share. What has the media contributed during COVID-19 and how can it maintain its popularity?

In celebration of World Television Day, Dr Ashley Jones, Senior Lecturer (Television and Radio Broadcast) explores why broadcast media and radio are drawing big audiences during the COVID-19 situation, and it's not just the big commercial stations.

Television is providing important news, current affairs and general entertainment and it is connecting with viewers of all ages. Why are people consuming more media and how can broadcasters keep them watching and listening in a post-COVID era?
